Futura started with a team of engineers and designers who wanted to build steel buildings better. Every Futura building system is designed and manufactured here in Cambridge, New Zealand owned and made for Kiwi conditions.

Strength Redefined

Strength at Futura comes from three things: the Box-Beam itself, the team that makes it, and how we work with you. Futura Box-Beam is a lightweight, fully enclosed steel beam. It gives you long clear spans, clean lines, and no open sections for birds to nest in.

We design and manufacture it right here in Cambridge, and we work closely with you from the first plan to the delivery on site.

What is Futura Box-Beam?

WORLD FIRST, GRAVITY-DEFYING TECHNOLOGY

 

Futura Box-Beam is the steel framing behind every Futura NZ steel building. It's a galvanised steel profile, roll formed into a fully enclosed rectangular hollow section, used for rafters, purlins, girts and other structural parts of a building.

That shape gives you long clear spans without internal columns, in a light weight beam. Because it's enclosed, there are no open sections for birds to nest in, so the roof stays clean.

It comes in nine standard sizes, from 150mm to 540mm high, so it suits almost any steel framing job in NZ.

Commercial and industrial

Full portal structures or Box-Beam purlins added to structural steel or timber framing. Warehouses, workshops, hangars and depots.

Primary industries

Full portal structures, steel or timber framing, and full roof structures on timber poles. Farm sheds, feed pads and covered yards.

Residential

Flooring frameworks, engineered lintel beams and framing.

We run Futura the way we build: simple, efficient and straight to the point. One local team looks after your Futura building system from the first plan to the truck arriving on site.
